This is the privacy policy for the app BreakFree available for Android devices. It outlines the information that is gathered by the app on your device, and how that information may be used. We take your privacy very seriously; and data collected by us is treated securely and confidentially.

 

Data stored on your device

One of the prime functions of BreakFree is to monitor the users phone usage and provide an addiction score. We also provide statistical graphs with regards to the users phone usage. This functionality requires the gathering and storing of phone usage data on your device. This data includes the users screen locks, screen unlocks and time spent on the phone. The addiction score calculated by the app is also stored on the device on a daily basis.

The app also offers certain scheduling tools to help the user stay away from his phone. These schedules also need to be stored on the device.

We do not store any personal or sensitive information such as phone numbers, passwords, contacts, etc.

 

Data transmitted via Google Analytics

As is standard with Android applications distributed through the Google Play Store, Google gathers and shares certain non-personally identifiable information (such as usage statistics) with the particular application developer using built-in functionality of the Google Play Store.

We receive also receive this non-personally identifiable data, as well as further similar anonymous data gathered on the users device such as features used, daily unlocks, daily phone usage time, top five apps used and their times via Google Analytics, a third party analytics package. We use this data for business operations and planning, including application improvement, debugging, and marketing.

No personally identifying information is ever transmitted to us.

 

Data sharing with third parties

We will only share transmitted data with third parties for the following purposes and in the following ways: 
We will not share your personal information with any third party since this is never collected by us. However, we may share with any third party aggregated and anonymized information, such as overall usage statistics across large groups of users. These third parties may include, for instance, vendors, affiliates, or customers who assist us in providing its products and services.

We may share any data that you have transmitted if required by law, if it believes it is necessary to comply with a court of competent jurisdiction or other legal requirements of any government authority, if it believes it would potentially mitigate its liability in an actual or potential lawsuit, if it believes it is otherwise necessary to protect its rights or property, or if we sell our business to a third party.
